Set against the lush coastal landscape of South Carolina’s Johns Island, this stately residence channels the quiet elegance of European countryside estates. Designed by Stan Dixon and brought to life with richly layered interiors by Tammy Connor, the home reflects a timeless sensibility rooted in restraint, proportion, and craftsmanship.
Millwork Artisans was proud to collaborate on this distinguished project, supplying and installing a complete package of thermally broken bronze windows and doors. The goal: bring enduring performance and artisanal refinement to a palette defined by stone, limewash, and wide open southern light.
Our scope featured:
- Lift-and-Slide Bronze Doors
Engineered for effortless movement and durability, these large-format doors offer expansive openings to porches and gardens, all while preserving the fine bronze profiles and warmth of the patinated finish. Integrated flush tracks deliver seamless transitions underfoot. - Oversized Bronze French Doors
Elegantly scaled and symmetrically aligned, the French doors act as architectural anchors throughout the home, reinforcing formality and proportion while maximizing natural light. Each unit was crafted with divided lites and thermally broken construction for year-round comfort. - Expansive Fixed Glass Assemblies
Monumental bronze-framed windows flood the interiors with light, highlighting the home’s muted color palette and natural materials. These fixed units were custom-fabricated to align precisely with adjacent doors and millwork, preserving the home’s crisp visual language.
From the subtle texture of the bronze patina to the precision of the installation, every detail was considered and executed with care. The result is a window and door package that feels elemental and enduring—both understated and extraordinary—complementing the home’s architectural pedigree while elevating its livability.
